“Ja nein” as a title was eliminated by Wattie and Ha. She had to put together the lyrics for Wattie Buchan or the work was lopsided: two-thirds was Wattie on bass, which was two minutes. A sample of the Rammstein band members as six musicians— or musers hovering close to Ha's sensory brain mediated by electricity flashing across two continents, two minutes. If listening to a boombox is eating a hot dog, streaming Internet wifi hoopla surveying empty boxes of Crayola is chewing aspertame gum. Wattie stopped her from being so glum. Too much of that in Rammstein's style already. He conceded: less flirting, more fun for the young listeners.

The version archived here is from personal memory, 2026 Jun 30, and is the second version after the original in 2012. The lyrics for the DC section has been altered, dropping the notion that USA is front of the NATO army, which is not always true nor advantageous.
“Wir sinh wir” was the song that did one better than Ha expected. They took it outside and got professional musicians to entertain the crowd. About 500 in Berlin and 80 in Washington, D.C. Ha did not want to drag a computer across the bridge and go into DC from Arlington, so she stayed in touch with Berlin. Her excuse was she was not going to add a microphone to her computer even if there were technicians available with the orchestra. The orchestra had a conductor, nobody invited her to use a baton; she was only a composer. It was a 4 hours endeavor that culminated in putting the crowd chanting onto tape live on-location. Berlin succeeded spectacularly toward the evening.
Maestro volunteered by contacting Ha when she posted the English lyrics. He changed out half of the chords because it was not written for a crowd to chant independently; it was written for a band. He went through his translation with her line by line, word by word, phrase by phrase, pauses in the aria and how he would conduct the crowd. He changed the tempo and gave the Berlin crowd 30 minutes to learn it and to sing it on their own. They did that twice, so a third of the crowd wandered away in search of beer. They waited 3 hours for DC to join them. Meanwhile, a DJ noodled around. The latest they could put it on tape was between 8 and 8:30 PM in the evening Berlin time (2 PM in the afternoon in D.C., 6 hours behind Berlin).
DC did not change anything. A volunteer orchestra of 20 persons took awhile to hash out appropriate instrumental accompaniment by ignoring the local singers. Ha tweaked the chords to hover around a C scale. The orchestra conductor and the German maestro agreed the key would be Dminor. By the time it was almost evening in Berlin, the crowd thinned down to 250 in the German city, with beer, but a few more ambled in. They rehearsed one time more and set the tape to record both sides. DC had to be cued by maestro and get singing. Berlin could hear DC but DC could not hear Berlin. Hope they [in D.C.] know how good the Berlin crowd is, they [we in Berlin] are asserting tonight, maestro said.
The next day DC was astonished the DC crowd did not sound swallowed on tape. They had left just enough openness to the English-language side, they played a full score as an orchestra but indoors that time, trying to match the enthusiasm of the Berlin crowd. The tape was sent to Berlin with the orchestration completed. Ha had a chance to work with the DJ. The same DJ in Berlin received advice from her. He could give the tape a party atmosphere, adding a small amount of dance boost with different synthkey embellishments and a variety of drum beats, adding 5 more minutes simply from the orchestra. Maestro approved so the DJ got to work. The party mix had variations that were customized for rich patrons in Berlin. One regular one was handed out as gifts and treasured in private stashes. Other bands heard about the endeavor and dropped by midday in Berlin to pick up a custom tape. Do you know if Rammstein are in town? Could you save a tape for them? Somebody who spent $800 shopping during lunch time said when all the tapes are gone, Rammstein can ask around. Everybody did a great job.
rgoGrey got around to discussing Eminem, the guy who delivered what we needed because the rest of us are imprecise. Hip-Hop was the genre the contributor leaned into, and it was not something Ha would spend time on. She had over two minutes to hear the arguments defending “Wir Sind Wir” from the original contributor. Ah, young lobbyists and fresh caucuses. She understood the lyrical flow. As long as the contributors, two young ladies, were happy with what they had accomplished, that mattered. Ha was glad the ratio of females was not too lopsided. In guitars, it is extremely lop-sided. Nobody had a good guitar riff. Pitched drums had a good guitar riff, two of the submissions, and one of them was Jazz fit for Rammstein. Just close your eyes, remove two notes, do the 12-bar only two ways, repeat really loudly, and if you have a vocal section for Till, tell yourself No and get on the piano.
